Pennsylvania Hospitality Foundation Golf Tournament

The Pennsylvania Hospitality Foundation
Announces Golf Tournament Winners

An exciting day was had by all. From the outstanding buffet “Picnic Lunch” in the Grand Picarde Pavilion of the Hershey County Club to the presentation of the giant statuesque trophies of a golfer, everyone had a good time. Exciting silent and live auctions were held by Tournament Pros. While many beautifully framed pieces of notable sports figures were auctioned the item receiving the highest bid was a Lodging/Golf Package for two at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. The Foundation wishes to express its thanks to Nemacolin for this donation. Speakers during the Awards Reception and Dinner included: James C. Miles, Vice President Resorts, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and Chairperson PTLA Board of Directors, Lydia Hess, Manager, Adult & Post Secondary, Bureau of Career and Technical Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education, Joori Jeon, Executive Vice President and CFO, American Hotel & Lodging Association, COO, The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation, Bob Craft, CHI, Lodging Management Program Instructor, Erie County Technical School, and Kayla Kebede, a student at Dauphin County Technical School.

While no one won the $10,000 Hole-In-One, 144 golfers had a fun, yet challenging, day on the noted East Course of the Hershey Country Club. The winners include:

First Place ~ Crowne American Hotels
Second Place ~ PA Getaways on Display
Third Place ~ Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Tourism Marketing Organization Cup - Pocono Mountains Visitor Bureau
Local Hotel Association Cup ~ The Greater Pittsburgh Hotel Association
Longest Drive ~ Rick Staub

The Pennsylvania Hospitality Foundation wishes to thank all of those who registered as a golfer and or a sponsor for the 10th Annual 2008 Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the Tournament benefit the PA Hospitality Foundation, an affiliate of the PA Tourism & Lodging Association. The core mission of the Foundation is to fund the Training for Lodging Careers (TLC) program, which provides academic instruction and work experience to junior and senior high school students in 27 high schools across the Commonwealth. TLC prepares students for employment in the lodging industry or for the pursuit of industry-related post-secondary education. Your participation helped raise funds needed to support the management of the TLC program.
